I’m back, and my QuickBooks job-costing training videos are done!

in Job Costing with QuickBooks, QuickBooks for Contractors

I've finally created my awesome training video about how contractors should use Items in QuickBooks. It will teach you a lot about Items, how to make QuickBooks work for YOUR business, and Job Costing. All these things are related, and for contractors they are at the core of what makes QuickBooks so helpful, but also so difficult to master, for a construction business.

  • You'll learn WHY it's important to use QuickBooks Items, and to use them correctly.
  • You'll learn what you need to consider before you set up your QuickBooks Item List.
  • You'll learn about the different Types of QuickBooks Items.
  • You'll learn best practices and general rules about managing your personal QuickBooks Item List.
  • You'll learn about the different ways you might consider organizing your QuickBooks Items for your particular business.
  • I'll also introduce you to some useful QuickBooks reports based on Items, and some tips and tricks from my years in the trenches.

This course is for you if

  • You have a construction business and you know there must be a way to make a profit, but you haven’t figured it out.
  • You have QuickBooks Pro or Premier, but it’s no more than a computerized checkbook to you.
  • You just got laid off from your construction job (or you are afraid you are about to get laid off).
  • Your boss is an idiot, and you could run a business better than he/she can.

This course will be most useful for

  • Small to moderate size residential or light commercial contractors
  • Remodelers
  • Trade/Specialty Subcontractors

The course will be less useful for

  • Spec Homebuilders
  • Government contractors
  • Large commercial contractors
  • Contractors who need to follow AIA rules

These businesses have to deal with issues that are beyond the scope of what we’ll address.

I don't cover inventory or sales tax in detail. Price levels, billing rate levels, and units of measure are beyond the scope of the course, and in the interest of time I don't talk about progress invoicing or custom fields. You will get the basics to prepare you for more advanced issues like these.

Check it out. You have nothing to lose: I have an unconditional 60-day, no questions asked, guarantee. If you are one of the first 50 purchasers, you'll get more than 50% off the price!
